Web 2.0 recruiting is the non-traditional way of recruiting candidates. It is basically employing innovative techniques in recruiting candidates. It is becoming part of normal communication; just another dimension to it.
There are number of companies who do not rely any longer on the traditional recruiting method or post and wait scenarios ( posting the job in portals and awaiting the candidates to apply).
Recruitment has certainly moved on to the advanced form-web2.0 recruiting.

Podcast and Videos
A podcast is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio, video, pdf files and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. An employer will use this for branding purpose and recruiters as a job tool. You can make a podcast by using you computer, microphone and recording software-Roxio. I am yet to explore this tool and have heard lot of hiring professionals calling this as an ease tool for recruiting.
Videos containing company overview, featuring leader speak and other short videos pertaining the exciting offerings a company has for the prospective hire is garnering lot of attention, because through these videos the candidates learn much about the company culture, company offerings and products.
Same can be employed by hiring professionals to attract the candidates to their specific jobs by making a video about the particular Business Unit intending to hire, videos can feature the roles & responsibilities through candid chat with employees and how they spend their day (primarily hinting at the job they do day in and day out). Share these video links in your blogs/professional/social recruiting sites.
